Meat, Vegetarianism or Vegan ?

Puffer fish is safe prepared by a trained chef. They'll cut it so you just get a small hint of neurotoxin giving it that tingle.

It is less dangerous with a trained chef. But there is still a small element of danger. Not anyone can serve pufferfish in Japan. The chef needs a license to serve pufferfish. As the fish is inherently dangerous. It is highly unlikely that someone would die with an experienced trained chef. But it doesn't mean that human errors couldn't possibly arise. Imagine a chef that safely served pufferfish 10,000 times. Then on the 10,001 serve. The chef fucks up. It only takes one fuck up to possibly kill someone. You could be lucky serving number 10,001. It is still a non zero probability that you could die after eating pufferfish.

I'm trying to switch to veganism because I know that it's better for the environment. I also am very weary of vegan food that does have a huge environmental impact (avocados for example). I usually shop for groceries at a local farmer super market. It's expensive but it's worth it. The quality of the products is very high and the environmental impact is very small.

When I was a kid, after watching the Chicken Run movie, I remember making a vow to not eat chicken... it was a vow I broke that same night when my parents brought home chicken. I don't think I can live happily without meat (especially pork belly and beef and seafood). If I absolutely had to, I would still at least want to eat fish and seafood, because as Asian whose tastes revolve around seafood, not eating that would be misery. ;-;
