Love rival?

Well, given my age it'd probably be a kouhai I had a crush on versus a senpai. Just to use the broader "some other guy also liked the girl I liked" scenario, it wouldn't necessarily hurt me, but I would seriously need to take a look at my own chances of getting with this girl and to see if the time was worth investing. I mean if she were already my gf, then I wouldn't worry too much about it unless I was seeing major changes in the relationship. It's not the first time someone has liked another person already in a relationship. If we were in the getting to know each other or dating phase and weren't officially a couple, then yeah, I'd probably want to know more about the guy, what her feelings toward him would potentially be, and make a sound judgement if it were worth continuing to persue something with her. If I feel I have little or no chance getting with a girl, I'm usually not one to stick around too long.

If it was Joe Blow off the street, I'd probably try and go for it anyway; but when I imagine someone like my best friend being the opposition, that gets tough. I can't say what I'd do. I guess it'd depend on how strongly I felt about her and what her feelings seemed to be.

I tend to weigh out my personal state of mind (i guess you could call it that?) before i pursue that senpai lol. Like if i'm crushing on a girl but i know i can't metally and physically devote myself to being in a relationship (not saying i'd cheat and be unfaithful) just you know how it is sometimes where you don't have the time or stability to give them your very best and what they deserve then i will pass up the opportunity and allow rival a victory. Now if i'm in a good place where i know i can give it my all and be the best that i can be then it's gloves off and we're competing til the best man wins, or until i realize i'm losing by a good margin then i just give up and remember why i have self confidence issues lol.

If we were bf and gf then me and her need to talk. If we're just starting out or weren't dating for long then yeah I'd fight hard >:o. At least as long as she was still interested in me. I mean if she's clearly more into the rival and he/she makes her happy then I gotta move on and find someone that makes me happy.
