Yeah I realized since college how left my BFF really is. I think I was always pretty moderate, which way I lean depends on the topic. I had to watch what I said around him these last couple of days. But he's coming around slowly now that he's dealing with a populace daily that relies on handouts. For me it was social work. For him, it's the Healthcare industry. To be specific, some people need the help, but most abuse it. He's seeing that now.

Yeah tbh i find it hard to associate with the conservative movement in society. I mentioned the collapse of the economy following silicon valley bank irl and got called a conspiracy theorist. Then one girl when i went on a training mission brought up how the dog food industry big wigs were changing the chicken feed ingredients that caused the egg shortage and she was basically roasted the entire time we were there and called crazy. So yeah i watch what i say around certain people. I eventually even gotta ourge all i posted on this website as well when i decide to cross over into another government sector before they do a background check and see all the conservative shit i posted.

I was very right wing when I was in my late teens, early twenties. Then I switched left. I find the invisible hand of monopolies and the 1% have become an oligarchy and really need to be regulated. Hope none of the extreme stuff I said when I was younger isn't still floating around XD

Sadly I think that the alt-right pipeline is still very much real but has transformed into a more palatable mainstream conservatism thing. So while it's not as cartoonishly inflammatory anymore, it's way more attractive to more "moderate" teens (behind the facade it's still just as hateful tho) Hopefully people'll grow up and grow out of that stuff eventually but it's hard to say. I too got out of the right wing bullshit a few years ago.

@animetidds I'm libertarian before I'm a leftist. And from my point of view, I agree. Most small government republicans aren't like that, but the thing is, somewhere along the line, we stopped seeing them in the wild. Meanwhile the anarchs on the far left are back to slitting each other's throats for tiny ideological differences just because there's an establishment president that is a few shades less of an authoritarian and a dog whistler, so its back to business as normal for them. One thing extremes often need in order to function is an enemy. Fuck that. I wanna be a country again.
