Anyone on here taking online college courses?

I am not currently, but somewhere around half of my degree was done with online courses.

With online courses, what you get out of it is completely dependent on your own learning abilities. Do you plan on just learning some things, or getting a full degree? I don't know much about Penn Foster. Are their course credits transferable to other colleges? I know people who have taken philosophy courses online simply to better themselves. I know people who have done their entire degree online. This could be recommended for business, writing, or computer science degrees. I know people who have taken half of their degree online in a hybrid college. They would take their core classes and some project classes on-site, everything else online (if possible). It really depends on what you want out of it.

Basically what Azuma said. What you put into it is what you get out of it. On the one hand it is a bit more convenient as far as scheduling things goes. With that said I've seen more than a few people slip up because they just forgot about the class. It is damn convenient though. I personally prefer to take offline courses though. But that's just because socialization is also a nice part of the college experience and a few good friends and potentially good connections down the line were met in courses I took with people interested in the same subjects that I was. As well I'd have professors who would bring in professionals and invite students to attend events. I would not have gotten all that had I just took the course online on my own time. But yeah online classes are not a bad thing at all.
