What is the best overall anime(s)?

If I had to choose I'd say either Clannad or Parasyte. It was very hard to narrow it down but in the end I feel that these are the absolute best that I've seen so far. One of the first anime I ever saw was Clannad and I still have yet to see another that beats it on an emotional (and musical) level. I admit the first season isn't perfect and it isn't known to be action-packed either but you will remember it forever. Parasyte is quite different and I only very recently watched it but I truly believe that it is one of the greatest shows ever. Not a single moment disappointed me and I was kept on the edge of my seat every episode. Each of these shows also have a very good moral story as well. What anime(s) do you believe is the overall best?

rokka no yuusha,boku dake ga inai machi, terra formars (season one only), and re:zero all anime with amazing stories...character development abd likeable characters

Some high tier ones I can think of are Eyeshield 21, Hunter x Hunter, Yu-Gi-Oh, Evangelion, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Berserk, Kuroshitsuji (No not the original anime series. Just the newest anime adaptations aka Book of Circus and Murder, and the manga), Ergo Proxy (Though it gets messy a bit at the end but aside that it's great), Golden Boy, Death Note, and if anime movies count I'll end this off with Sword Of The Stranger. There's other good ones too of course but these are the highest to me.

Surprised no one's mentioned Angel Beats yet (even though it is a bit rushed). Evangelion is awesome but I wouldn't consider it the best due to such a massively confusing/messy storyline, but I suppose that's exactly why people like it as well. And I just recently started watching Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (2012) and it seems really good so far.
