Is it worse to be too easy/attainable or too picky/unattainable?

Do you think a person is worse off being the kind of person who'd give almost anyone a chance or the kind of person who gives basically no one a chance? And why? And yes I know ideally you could be somewhere in the middle but that isn't the point of the question.

You love picking extremes Azure. Too many girls are too picky (but often that's because of bad past experience). And many guys are too easy but certainly not all. I think it's good to give someone a chance so I think it's worse to be too picky.

@Neko I have to pick the extremes. If I didn't people would take it personally and be all wishy washy in the middle with answers like "Well I think a little of both is needed" or "I'm not too picky but I still have standards" completely missing the point. I want to know which trait people specifically believe is worse and why.

It's trendy to be picky because you are considered uncool to be easy. But having too rigid of a predefined expectation really limits yourself from really getting to know someone you may end up falling for. I would rather try and fail than hardly ever try at all because someone doesn't fit some exact specification.

I disagree with Neko and think just about the complete opposite of everything he has said here. Being picky means not settling for someone sub-par or mediocre. Sure, people are not going to find that perfect someone for them, but when you find close to perfect it's pretty darn amazing. Plus being picky means you have an idea of what you're looking for and who is better suited to you and your personality. Why go out with someone you know a relationship isn't going to work out with??
