Why did start watching anime?

@WonderLust Tbh I don't like the new cartoons I much prefer the old ones that's part of the reason I stopped watching TV that and the fact that I hated commercials taking up 30 mins of my time. @thecomingdarkness777 I never got to finish Zatchbell I played the games but I do need to eventually go back and finish that Anime as for toonami there is apparently a new one with a different kinda of robot host along with his electronic partner but tv is already dead for me so its irrelevant.

I started watching anime because it was cool. Everybody had Pokemon stuff when I was a kid. I still have a tub of Pokemon stuff from back in the day. Gold plated cards and all that jazz.

@}{shadows}{ When I said American cartoons are "slowly warming up", I meant by the lesbian undertones in the kids tv show (Steven Universe) as a comparative to anime's BL /yuri genre What new cartoons were you thinking about?

@WonderLust Ones like talking Orange I don't dislike all the new ones it just that I liked the old ones more maybe it was because the old ones are more my style I dunno just something about the new cartoons make me not like them as much but I do dislike talking Orange that's the dumbest cartoon ive ever seen >.>

my first anime that really got me into it (not counting DBZ when growing up) was Bleach. I had rarely watched tv and spent most of my time playing sports or gaming so to me these were considered "cartoons". Then i fractured my temporal bone on my skull so sports was eliminated for a while and i was going through a break from gaming stage. So one night i was watching adult swim and saw some dudes beating the shit out of each other with swords and bankais. From then on if i watch something it is anime genre or ofc GoT on sundays xD

Pok'e Mon, Sailor Moon, and DBZ started it all. When I watched these shows I felt like the art, stories, and culture were different from your average American cartoons. When I found out some American cartoons like Dexter's Laboratory took some inspiration from anime I loved it even more.

I watched a lot in my childhood a few years back, but stopped after there wasn't much on tv anymore. I got back into it about 3 years ago when a friend introduced me to sao. I really liked it and so I began gettin ginto it again

I had two reasons for starting to watch Anime, number 1 being that I played lots of Fire Emblem, and when Awakening came out with all the anime style and such, I got interested. The second reason is that a close friend just recommended me to do it, so she introduced me to anime
