And Reaper, I gave you several sources that debunk this whole idea that you're helping anyone. Please don't pretend like this is "educational". You're just making jokes most people here are telling you are not funny. If you want to help, don't go around mocking people. I think I've pretty solidly proven that DOES NOT HELP.

Halo - I disagree. I think sending him a message or writing on his wall would do more than continuing to to post in this thread. Posting on his wall means that you don't wanna keep this kind of shit top topic and still gets your point across. VeZeal - agreed. Personally, I don't care either way. I do think that the reaction after my initial post was beyond overkill. Only other person that responded reasonably besides us is Yaasshat.

If you're obese and don't want to die because of obesity, there's literally millions of resources out there to help them. But no, they want it to be considered a disability, and want bigger seats, bariatric chairs and gastric bypass because its the *EASY* thing to do. Thin privilege is not claiming you're disabled because of how much you weigh.

If you want to call people out on what can reasonably likely be poor lifestyle choices and lack of personal control which again can reasonably (in a vacuum) be a factor in obesity .... then call it what it is ... don't be like "hey lets make fun light heartedly" be like ... obesity is a serious condition and has many negative consequences and unless you have a legitimate condition that makes it (borderline) impossible to maintain a healthy weight I'm calling you out on it (in either a confrontational-ish way or a "tough love" kind of way) Just drop the "joking" aspect and just kind of admit that you're just trying to call people out - while not the nicest thing at least you're being upfront and honest and if that isn't as respected that is more on others.... but stop with that I'm just trying to be funny facade (it is probably that facade that is pissing people off more than the actual point)

Well, the original point was a joke thread. Something people could laugh at while discussing the unhealthy aspects of being morbidly obese. But its had to be morphed now into a cynical joke-o-rama

So then stop it. Joking doesn't help. If your goal was to help then you could have done so in a constructive way. All joking about it does is make you look like an asshole. As I said on page 4, making fun of overweight people makes the problem worse. If you care about your medical costs then you're screwing yourself

They need to be brought back down to reality. As I said - not targeting anyone on here - most people on here are either in shape, or if they're overweight, far from a dangerous level.
