@Kid This has no direct connection to you. It just made me think of it: My nephew and his gf had had contact for almost 15 years before they started dating. Only problem was that he's from the Netherlands and she was from the US. 2 years of LDR and a year of living here (yes, she moved here) he proposed to her while having a snowball fight yesterday evening. It was very awkward in my opinion, but of course she said yes, because if she were to fail her studies abroad (abroad meaning here in the Netherlands) she would be deported. It all seems pretty nice, but looking closer at it, the timing seems even more interesting. A month ago one of my other nephews proposed to his gf of 6 years. My other nephew always wanted to be the first to get married and his marriage has been planned a couple of days before that of my nephew who proposed last month. All of that makes me a little sick, because I don't think my nephew and the US girl are even close to ready to getting married. If he doesn't get his shit together and finish his studies this year, he's going to have to pay back his ten years debts of unfinished education (which will be absolved if he finishes his degree this year)

No offense but I'm not sure what that was about. I can't go into detail but it was decided that other things were more important so whatevs. Took me 26 years to get my first so that means I can get another one in 26 years if i care too. I won't choose to but that's me.

@Kid That was probably more something for the confessions thread, but when you talked about proposing it reminded me of seeing my nephews post on Facebook today and the whole story just kind of poured out before I noticed this wasn't confession but sexy pics. I'm not sure what you're saying in the second part of the comment, but it seems like you've made up your mind, which seems good enough

Kiddo you two were pretty doomed from the start. It was only a matter of time really. You needed a hell of a lot of help to get where you got and you know what I'm talking about. Mango's a quitter - I know the decision to leave wasn't yours (I think all of MO knows this bit). I knew it'd end miserably for you both although I didn't think it'd last as long as it did to be honest.
