yeah, is it me or has the plot for the past few mecha animes been the same, where they have to protect a noble/princess while she does diplomatic work

Hi :) Of that list you first posted I've only seen Clannad. To me it was the most realistic, relevant to life anime I've ever seen, and the saddest for sure. :(
