1: I work 4 days a week, and during those 4 days, I am generally too tired to post when I get home. The conversations just sort of drop off the face of the earth, either by my hand or theres, and its... Holy crap, its snowing outside. It was raining only two minutes ago, now its all large snow flakes...
^ | |____ Not even kidding, this is one reason I have trouble keeping conversations going. But seriously, why is Ohio weather so bipolar?
Well that's a bit unfair. This topic is not about positivity, ie: common reasons to pursue people...it's common reasons you essentially neglect them.
It's only natural that you become selective on who you spend time with and exert your energy on. Some more selective than others. We could all fake the funk with all we meet, but I'd see no satisfaction or resolve in that choice of lifestyle.
Oh I know. I'm not saying that I expect positivity or for people to compromise their own standards just so someone else can have a friend/interest. It just seems funny to me is all.
I agree with Malice. You asked what made people give up conversations. So that's why the responses are mainly negative. Obviously if you thought positively about a chat partner or how they communicate you wouldn't give up the chat. There's another thread about "How does one keep your attention" or something similar. There people named all the positive things that would keep their interest.
I know :) I don't think it's bad, I intentionally made this to be about those reasons yes. Not complaining about it. Btw, I made the thread about keeping people's interest. This thread is twice as long as that one. So it was sort of a really "in" joke to myself. Like that people find it much easier to think about reasons why they wouldn't want to be around someone than reasons they would(Which probably isn't true for a good deal of people anyway). I dunno, I thought it was funny. Not a criticism on anyone or anything like that.
Oh, well, I didn't think about that. It's in our nature to complain rather than appreciate because humans always strive for more than they have. Also, when you want to be around someone, you don't really have to find reasons to. You just want to. However, it is fairly common that people feel bad for neglecting people so they search for explanations as to why they ignore those people.
That might explain the stronger response on this thread.

As far as halting them?
-Lack of interest either specifically or generally
-Lack of energy
-Solitary habits
