Worth Watching this season, so far!!!

joseph87mar
This season just starting, not sure what to watch. Here are some anime you might be into, based on the 1st ep or more. Prince of Stride: Alternative: This is a "Sport" anime. If you are into that genre/theme, you might like it. This 1st episode kept me into it, like most sport anime. Musaigen no Phantom World: This anime is a "supernatural" anime. This 1st episode was alright. It gets you curious. I might stick with it. (Judging from the 1st episode, it also might be ecchi/fan-service later on. I could be wrong.) Haruchika: Haruta to Chika...: This anime is a "music" genre/theme. I like music anime, so I might stick with it. If your into this type of anime then watch it. Active Raid: A "MECHA" anime. Not really my favorite genre. The 1st episode, for me, did not really grab me. If by the 3rd ep, I might not continue it. Shoujo-tachi wa Kouya wo Mezasu: I can't really say much about this one, except for the genre/theme seems more "Romance." I will stick with it because one character already had me glued. Norm9: This anime is more "Sci-fi." The beginning of the 1st ep, I liked a lot. The other half was not that much that I was really into it, until the very end. So, see how this continues. Erased: This anime is more "Mysterious." It kept me glued to it, until the very end, then left a fat hanger. So, this looks like it will be great. Ansatsu Kyoushitsu 2: This is a more "comedy" than anything. If you haven't seen the 1st season, then catch up. This 1st ep of this 2nd season kept me laughing, throughout the whole episode. Maybe it will be better then the 1st season. More to be posted later...

I've started watching Shoujo-tachi. Some people are comparing it to Saekano, but it's really it's own show. I like it so far, to.

I agree with Teacup. Erased has really kept me hooked so far, and I find it hard to tear myself away from it, even after the credits come up. Its probably the first anime in a long time where I found myself emotionally invested into the characters right from the start. The dark situations really contrast well with the protagonist's motives, which highlights his better qualities in a way that is both believable and worthy of respect. For the first time in quite a while, I'm left truly not knowing what's going to happen next, even if I already have a dozen theories on what is going on. (Which anyone who has watched a lot of anime would have to agree is kinda a hard thing to wrap your head around. Generally by episode three, its easy to figure out where a plot is heading in any given series.) Musaigen no Phantom World also strikes my interest, mostly because of how accurately it captures a variety of mythological and occult beliefs from around the world, while still managing to keep things funny. I find myself explaining things to my dad that the anime subtlety shows rather than tells, like "This is why, if you ever find yourself in a fairy world, spirit world, or any alternate plane of existence, you never eat the food there. It grounds you to that realm." And of course, for as much as I rave about erased, I have to say my favorite this season is Hai to Gensou no Grimgar. I've been waiting for a long time to see an anime like it, where the main characters are adventurers, but by no means heroes, actually highlighting the dangers that a single goblin presents for common adventurers. (I tried to run a roleplay on Gaia like that once, but lets face it. Everyone's gotta be a badass, even if they have never experienced actual combat. lol) But seriously, with how strong most anime protagonists are, its nice to see characters struggle in every battle, and the drama behind a life and death confrontation. All the while, barely scraping enough coppers together to buy things we take for granted like undergarments. And it neither takes itself too seriously or too light heartedly, which really brings out the adolescence of the protagonists. And thats not to say I don't enjoy animes like Berserk/Claymore or Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!/DanMachi. Just tired of medieval fantasy worlds being portrayed either as a silly joke or hardcore dark fantasy. I always love that perfect balance right in the middle. Dangerous and intriguing, but hospitable enough to where children can still have a childhood.) Oh yeah, speaking of Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!, I still love that one. Its the first comedy that had me laughing out of my seat in a real long time.

The only anime this season thats really kept my interest and i anticipate the next episode is Hai to Gensou no Grimgar. Its just so entertaining and is a nice spin on the whole "stuck in a game" type of story. The characters don't know what they're doing for one, they've quite literally started off at 0 and have nothing to work with. They have to learn how to survive and even how to kill. Its really good.

ERASED and Ajin for sure. Definitely Haikyuu and AssClass too, but that didn't start this season.

I second Chocopyro and lugexd. Grimgar is my favorite new show this season. I also just discovered Dimension W, which is also a new show. I think I'm really going to like that one as well.
