Paying for subscriptions of Anime

kichigai913
How many of you actually support the anime industry and pay for subs like Crunchyroll or Hulu+? What do you subscribe to? Why or why don't you?

I subscribed to Crunchyroll & buy DVDs/BDs titles they don't have usually from J-List. I've seen how hard those animators work just for an episode & I'll make sure they get their due royalties even on my small contributions. I'm also trying to buy all my favorite mangas (again) via digital download directly from their licensed publishers in the US like Viz Media.

I had a subscription to Netflix until I watched all their anime that I was interested in. Now I'm on Hulu and they're usually releasing new stuff regularly to keep my subscription. Also around the holidays when the sales are going online I'll drop 100$ on for or five series.

Paying for subscriptions to streaming sites is a pretty horrible way to "support the industry" and you're only lying to yourself if you think it is. If you really wanted to support the industry you'd buy dvds/blurays direct from japan, that's their main source of revenue. Of course those things aren't cheap, so people rather support western based middle man companies that only provide fixed licensing fees to the creators so they can still give themselfs a pat on the back without having to spend too much.
