Since IP-banning is useless in the age of easily accessible proxies, not really anything else one can do.

nah there's plenty of ways of blocking spam bots. IPs aren't the only way.

I'm sure there is some way you can prevent proxys from being used on the site.. there are tons of creative developers out there, I am sure that someone will create or have created that system and hank has yellow hair because he is a super saiyan xD
