Do we live in a matrix?

They do say there are a number of properties about our existence that mirror computer programming. So who knows? It's certainly difficult to test for making it a fringe science at best. But perhaps Kujou-chan, when you close that door, the room on the other side disappears. Only to load when you approach to open the door again. lol Fermilab is currently performing experiments that, among other things, is trying to find out if there's a limit to the resolution of reality... if they can see small enough to spot the pixels of the universe. I hear they should be closing in on the end of their data collection.

I consider it to be possible but not highly probable because of the lack of scientific evidence supporting the claim. As time goes on and computer science as well as physics continue to make breakthroughs, proof that support this idea might arise .I have thought about it and considered this possibility many times throughout my shower-philosophy sessions( lol ) and i've got to admit that it is a very interesting topic that i would not expect to arise in this forum . 'The Talso Principle' is a videogame that is based on such possibilities and questions ('living in a program/matrix','what is real','what is consciousness' and more). I had a ton of fun struggling with both the puzzles needed to progress further into the game and the philosophical questions it posed. if you have free time and spare money i would suggest you to give it a try . PS i too am interested in listening to other people's opinions and views on the subject mainly because i haven't managed to draw any conclusions myself.

To create a system that can support the amount of information every human being experiences would be so high that it would break reality as we know it. Not to mention that whatever is being tested is being tested improperly if we go by how humans think. In order to test something, it must be done on a smaller scale because there are too many variables otherwise. I tend to believe in the most likely scenario most humans don't want to face. That we all exist in chaos. Chaos that has no control, no meaning. Cold chaos. People live and die and kill, and the universe doesn't care. God can exist, sure, but this god must love order in chaos. If I were God, I'd be laughing a humans' feeble attempts to explain the meaning in why things happen in the universe when there is no meaning. It just happens. To accept this truth is to drown in despair, therefore we create theisms to give ourselves purpose and worth hoping that someday all of our hard work will somehow pay off. I almost died once. I saw things that could possibly be hallucinations. I choose to believe that there is another state of existence after life. It's entirely possible. It may not be the Heaven everybody hopes for, but there is something.

Arc, doesn't the test depend on what variable you're messing with? For example a test to answer the question of what 7 billion people would do can only be done with 7 billion people. And that's assuming we aren't all NPC in your simulation. Though as I said before the near impossibility in testing this hypothesis means it can't really be called scientific. As any result can be explained away as, "Being put there by the simulation to trick you." Perhaps the only way to try to prove it would be to break the damned thing. Who wants to B.S.O.D reality?!
