Anyone Here Collects PVC Figures?

Sonic, yeah I completely agree. figma have really been going down hill for a while now. Besides going up in price while including less accessories, they're also implementing this DLC style BS where you have to buy direct from GSC's website at full MSRP to get a single part. Sometimes this could mean paying something like $15 more for just a face or a gun compared to other sites. Not to mention the variety has been really lacking lately with them focusing more on videogame and western characters. I got a few figuarts but yeah the quality isn't great. Mainly been collecting the precure figuarts, got nine so far with two more on the way. They can be really flimsy and fall apart easily.

@theothertwin13 I started a year ago too, my collection's at about 60 figures right now. I would say I probably like scales the best too considering the size and how much detail they have. Figma aren't that bad though, the joints aren't that noticeable unless they're on skin. Plus after a while it is nice to give them different poses or faces, and it's a lot more fun for figure photography! o: Neet, I know, it's not even full price, it's full price plus Japanese tax which is BS. Hmm, I agree the variety has been lacking, but I've mainly been seeing Kancolle and Idolmaster/LoveLive announcements and releases. I don't mind the video game characters, but I really don't understand the thought process behind making the statue figma like The Thinker. I personally would like to see the Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic Knights Rayearth figma be released someday, but who knows if that'll happen if The Thinker is prioritized over them. ;__;

Sonic, I think their reasoning behind doing more live action characters along with statues like The Thinker is them trying to branch out to newer more mainstream audiences. My guess is they think The Thinker is something average people would be more inclined to buy on account of it being a world famous statue compared to some niche anime. That and people would probably be less embarrassed to buy something like that and show it off rather than a school girl figure.

I'm a general figure collector, meaning I collect figures from any of my interests, anime or otherwise. As for Japanese figures I mostly own a few figmas and revoltechs though I have all the SH FIguarts Inner Senshi and an Ultra Act of Ultraman Leo (I really want one of Tiga!). I don't have many Japanese figures but I plan on changing that. As for favorites, I have to say my heart is with figma. But SH Figuarts/Ultra Act have been growing on me. Revoltech is okay but they can be a pain to pose due to them having ratchet joints. And they feel more fragile.
