Both of my grandparents on my mother's side are dead. And my grandmother from my father's side is dead. The last grandparent I have is my intensely alcoholic grandpa from my father's side. If you have grandparents, enjoy their company while you have time to.

I never met my grandfathers since they all died before I was born. I don't really remember much about my grandmothers because they took care of me when I was really young and we didn't even live in the same countries for most of my life. My maternal grandmother died when I was in middle school and the only memory I have of her other than going to see her in hospice is making dumplings from scratch when I was super little. I have a little bit more memories of my paternal grandmother but it's also kinda sad because I couldn't really understand her well with how thick her accent was, but she was around the longest so I have more random little memories of her. She passed after I graduated from undergrad like 4 years ago Definitely, enjoy their company while you can. Now that they're gone I hear all these stories (mostly my paternal grandparents) about running from the communists and other family history and it's sad that I only have a more second hand account of it (due to my dad being suuper young at that time), so I regret that.

Well my grandparents on my fathers side, as well as pretty much my father, abandoned us when I was in high school. I never knew my grandfather on my mother's side, I saw him for the first and last time at my uncle's funeral. As for my grandma on my mother's side, she's friggin awesome! She plays World of Warcraft and I guess one of my fondest memories is literally doing dungeons and raids with her in WoW lol. She's pretty much the reason I got into gaming when I was younger because she got us an SNES and Sega Genesis (´。・v・。`). I worry lately though because she is a heavy smoker and she went to the hospital recently when she had trouble breathing. :c

My grandma father's side disowned me because, I quote, I'm an "arrogant slut". But my grandpa was a fucking legend. He was a hobby scientist, a politician and worked as a programmer. My grandma mother's side died and my grandpa is an alcoholic. I don't know how he is still alive.

My grandma from my father's side is my most precious person. Literally, she's so beautiful, kind and perfect to me she's like my mom. If she dies, I do too. My grandfather from my father's side used to be an alcoholic but he divorced and started a farm inside of the country. He was really good to me though, apparently he's actually visiting the house today. Both my grandparents from my mother's side didn't really want me when I was born because my mom was 19 at the moment, so they literally never took care of me until my other grandma' took me in and they started seeing that I wasn't a 'failure' like my mom is. So they are good to me now.

I have a lot of memories of my grandpa on my dad's side. He went blind before I was born, so every year he would make a point to put his hand my brother's head and my head to see how much we had grown. He was a multi-millionaire, but he lived simply. He was very cold and sometimes mean to the people he was collecting rent from, but he always warmed up whenever my brother and I visited. My dad said that my grandpa was only happy when his grandchildren were there. I'll never forget my grandpa's big, booming southern accent whenever we visited. Today, only my grandmother on my father's side is living. She recently had a stroke and had to be hospitalized for it. She is such a strong woman that the doctor said he rarely ever see hearts as healthy as hers. I'm very close with my family so I'm close with my grandma too. If ever she goes to the hospital, I'd be there the same day.

My dad's parents died 8 years before I was born, so I only ever really knew my mother's parents. They were pretty awesome people. My grandmother died in 2004 and my grandpa in 2012. If you're fortunate to still have any of them in your lives, appreciate them while they're here. I missed out on a few opportunities the last few years both my grandma and grandpa were alive when I was in my early 20's because I was "too busy" doing other things with friends and I regret missing out on them now as I've gotten older.
