an old heart throb of the past came back into my life, I don't want to be interested but I am for some reason, he said he liked me so much that he didn't want to ruin our friendship, but I just think he's full of it, yet I still have lingering feelings for him, very annoying

uh I've been feeling neutral/mellow so idk if I like or even more.. someone an tbh many people have been saying they like me or love right away which made that feeling just wither immediately so not sure if I'll feel mutual on that for sometime all I really want is a friend that's a girl an possibly become just good friends without the love or intimacy?
