Could anyone help me with a few basic questions I have about creating animation? Even people with general knowledge would know more than me and might help me in the right direction. It would be APPRECIATED.

I know some stuff on it, but not much. I maybe able to help.

Well I had an idea for an original video set to music. (not like an AMV) So it wouldn't be longer than a few minutes. Drawing also isnt exactly my strong suit but i did have an idea for (whatever the opposite of the in-betweener shots is) to make part of it a little easier. But I have no idea where to start. Need help to go anywhere with the idea.

A typical animation is 25 fps (frames per second). Two minutes of animation is a few months worth of work (depending on what your priorities are). 25(frames)X120(seconds)=3,000 frames in total for 2 mins What are you trying to do? Get someone to animate for you? Or do you need info on how to animate? I am no expert on the matter but in a few google searches you should find what you want to know.

Oh, the fps is good info. Thanks, it will help alot. This plan is to make an original animation to original music. But really it is an excuse to try something new. I don't mind it taking a long time to finish since it is only for fun. And I wouldn't expect anyone to have enough time to spare so ill try and figure it out myself. I do have ideas that should simplify the process but I just don't know enough to get started yet. One thing I do know is that I don't want it to have that flash animation feel to it. My biggest hurdle is in equipment at the moment. It would be really helpful if there was a way to get access to a computer with animation software. But I am prepared for the archaic route if needed. Suggestions? Ideas? Help? Please and thank you.

Check out Live 2D and see if that works for you. It's more technical, but you don't have to draw a crapload of frames, just a lot of layers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrLnF7CQ8Ac

Hmm, that program looks interesting. I'm gonna look into it. Thanks!

I hand draw everything and then put it up frame by frame in this program "Toon Boom Studio" or "Toon Boom Animate". It's similar to flash except whatever drawing I import to it doesn't look all gross and pixelated. You can also draw vector arts directly in the program itself (I know you said you don't like flash but it's an option). You can also draw each frame in another program like "Paint Tool Sai" or "Manga Studio" or something and do the same thing I do - putting each frame in at a time - Or not -

I noticed when exporting my animations into mp4 that the lineart quality is significantly better.
