Do you think pokemon is a children version of cockfights

Yeah lol I always think about that, they just try to make it look more innocent because technically the pokemon don't die, they 'faint' rofl

What I like to think about is what they eat in the pokemon world. Mmmmm Tauros meat. Maybe I could go for some Krabby legs, doduo wings. But back on topic yeah, pokemon are basically slaves that must do battle at the will of their trainer, and there's an old manga that's more dark and serious than the children's anime they have been working on. Also, Ash is such a joke compared to Red. >:(

... Basically, yeah. :P What makes it even more messed-up is that a lot of pokemon are actually sentient and highly intelligent; they can understand human speech plus show a wide range of emotions, including ones such as sympathy. So it's basically slavery + cockfighting

@Richaadokun -- It's shown in several pokemon episodes that some species are used as food. Magicarp would be one of them, and the pokedex entry of Farfetch'd even mentions that it's so rare because it has been hunted to near-extinction due to its tasty meat.
