How Does It Feel To Be One Of The Beautiful People?

darkhorse
Boa Hancock taught me something (as do most One Piece characters). The only trait that matters is one's beauty. When you are beautiful, people will do anything for you- buy you drinks, open doors, put money into your account, give you rides, hell, even cars! Fame, fortune, and glory will come your way if blessed with the right looks. And you get to talk down on people while looking up! Yes, I'm afraid beauty is the only quality that matters. Ugly people never get anywhere in life- only the Marilyn Monroes and Brad Pitts matter.

Wait, is this like a joke? I'm pretty sure that's all false. Sure, you get perks from being hot. What I've personally learned through experience, is that a lot of hot people (NOT ALL, NOT ALL) but a lot, are quite mean. I'd rather be nice and ugly than hot and douchy. Go watch the movie "Strange Magic". It's literally the theme of "What's on the inside counts". SPOILER: (it's a super good movie, too. The hot guy gets shit, and the "ugly" dude gets the girl. An interesting aspect is that, while the hot guy and ugly guy don't physically change, you quickly find that the "ugly" one is a lot more attractive, simply because he's nice and good and it's awesome go watch it 50 times)

I guess it's the best to be pretty and nice, personality is important too, beauty is not the only thing that matters.

I'm afraid that's not how the world works. Beautiful people become rich, famous, and the stuff of legends.
sunflower
Well there are normal people who can become rich and famous too

I think it all depends on how you want to view it. You can change your face easy, and stars without makeup look pretty darn normal. It's more about what goes on inside the head that determines if you'll ever try to become famous. It might be easier if you already have the confidence built up from having good looks, but looks don't last for forever. If you think you're ugly, you'll probably never even try to get anywhere because you're so caught up with listening to what people tell you to do. It doesn't matter.

Sure the halo effect does work. But not for any long term relationship (platonic, business, romantic, etc). So many studies have been done about it and the results are always the same. In the long run, everything tends to even out in the end.

I enjoy Luffy reaction to Hancock. He does not care at all about how she looked. That why her power to turn all to stone does not work on him. lol
