Check out this one OVA series from the late 1980s / early 1990s: Angel Cop. It's a jingoistic, violent anime about a group of elite cops that fight terrorism in Japan. It has ridiculous gore and death scenes. When Manga UK dubbed it into English, there actually wanted it to get a higher rating, because they wanted it to appeal to adults, so the English dub script was filled with a ridiculous amount of cursing.
