First anime period would be DBZ Then after that came the 90's Toonami and Adult Swim shows

DBZ. Pokemon and Digimon don't count.

Hello my name is Tim. I've been an otaku for as long as I can remember, but my first and still my favorite anime that turned me into an otaku is DBZ.

Banner of the Stars, First true anime obsession and embarrassingly enough my first love back when I was allot younger. I grew up on Toonami though for most of my anime needs. Then netflix took over feeding me some truly one of a kind anime which in turn made me the otaku I am today.

Ranma 1/2! Still hands down one of the best anime ever despite being quite old now. Classic Rumiko at her peak! :D

Gundam 0080 War in the pocket. First anime and it made me cry as well. Hooked for laifu. Maison Ikkoku was the start of Rumiko's golden age! (for me)

@Riolis I love Maison Ikkoku, too!!! :D But Ranma 1/2 inspired me to become a ninja or anything that can jump through walls and trees and to become a gymnast martial artist, haha! Not that I ever became one, but still..

I totally get what you meant lol especially when you watch the anime when you are small. http://media.giphy.com/media/R7WrpJ8Ei9zS8/giphy.gif Oldman genma was my fav. but omggg the story was waaay to long. Even more longer in Inuyasha, thats when I stop following Rumiko's work unfortunately.

@Riolis Yes!!! All the OP-ED themes were super on point, too! The music made Ranma, well, Ranma! :) The story is indeed long, but it was able to sustain its quality, at least for me. That's a rare feat among anime these days. That's why Rumiko is QUEEN! :D
