Recipes for some tasty dishes

It would be nice to see what we all like to eat or cook. Also if we have any recipes we try we can post them and even tell each other how they turned out.

Made some awesome chocolate chip cheesecake bars yesterday. Really easy to make. All you need is: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cream Cheese (8oz/1 package) Sugar (1/2 cup) 1 egg I think I used a 8x8 aluminum pan but if you use glassware than it's be a good idea to use cooking spray so it won't stick. Preheat the oven to 350. Use half of your cookie dough for the bottom layer of the bars and put it in the pan. Get the cream cheese in a separate bowl and mix it with the egg and sugar untill smooth. Add this as the second layer and spread it around evenly with a knife. Then use your remaining cookie dough and scoop it into little balls of dough for the top layer. It doesn't have to cover all the cream cheese just evenly distribute it. I don't remember how long I baked this because I didn't set a timer but bake untill the cream cheese turns a golden brown color. Let it sit for at least and hour before serving, or put it in the fridge if you prefer them chilled. Hope this comes out alright if someone tries!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNDei0Lo2dg I tried those today. pretty good, suck at flipping. Another recipe I tried was called white chocolate raspberry bars 3 0z of white chocolate 2 packs of cream cheese 1/2 a cup of sugar 2 eggs a tsp or table spoon of vanilla (never can tell which, I just give a splash) and the recipe says 1/3 a cup of raspberry preserves, but I say a whole jar of it. (if you want to make your own crust, crunch up oreos and butter the bottom of the pan with them) Well, you mix your sugar, cream cheese and vanilla with a mixer. (curse while this gets caught up in the blendy sticks pissing you off and you got to pry it out.) melt the chocolate in the microwave or in a melting pot. don't burn and don't over heat. When that's done, pour that in there and start mixing. Have it mixing on low and add the two eggs one at a time, (cursing again as doing this alone is insane and you have to be crazy skilled.) blend until mixed and smooth. Pour mixture into the pan with the crust to be. Smooth over and pop in the over for 25 to 28 minutes at 375. When done take out and let cool for 5 to 10 minutes. Gently put the preserves on top. Melt a little more white chocolate and have fun trying to 'drizzle' it on top. chill for 4 hours and you will have a cheese cake that people will happily steal

Recipe for "Boterkoek" Dutch Butter Cake: INGREDIENTS 1 1/3 cups butter 2 cups white sugar 2 eggs (I ended up using 3) 1 1/2 TSP almond extract (optional) 2 TSP baking powder 3 cups all purpose flour Milk or cream for brushing top Sliced almonds to decorate top (optional) INSTRUCTIONS - Preheat oven to 325 degrees. - Cream butter and sugar until very light and fluffy (3-5 minutes). - Add eggs and almond flavouring - mix well. - Gradually add baking powder and flour - mix well. - Spread evenly between two 9″ cake pans. - Brush tops with a little cream and top with sliced almonds if desired. - Bake for 28-30 minutes, until light brown -- do not overbake or cake will be dry. - Let cool completely before removing from pan. I get a lot of good reviews for this and it's crazy easy to make

No problem, we are from all over, so I figured we would have many different dishes that would be excellent to try. I will post my experiments in here.

This recipe is for Sweet Fluffy Cornbread... It has a cake like consistency when finished. Ingredients 1 cup cornmeal 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/3 cups white sugar 2 tablespoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 2/3 cup vegetable oil 1/3 cup melted butter 2 tablespoons honey 4 eggs, beaten 2 1/2 cups whole milk Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Stir together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, mix the vegetable oil, melted butter, honey, beaten eggs, and milk. (It's important to mix dry ingredients and wet ingredients together separately at first so they combine better for the end result.) When both are thoroughly mixed, combine them, mixing until smooth consistently. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, until the top of the cornbread starts to brown and show cracks. The great thing about this recipe is depending on your personal tastes you can alter it. If you want it to be less cake-like and more like regular corn bread, add more corn meal in place of flour. Ex: 2 cups of flour, 2 cups corn meal. If you don't want it to be very sweet like cake, half the amount of sugar< this is how I usually prepare it anyway. This recipe makes for a serving of 12 but you can make a smaller pan 9x9 by cutting the ingredients in half. ^_^
