It sucks that they couldn't get the funding to continue the series...such a cliffhanger...

Love this series. There've been rumors that they might release it this year though.

I know the creator is working on pushing out a VN type game this year. There are rumors that he is also pushing for a third Zero Escape game, but I'm very cynical on it. I think he is going to use this new VN game as a platform to garner support for the third Zero Escape game.

Third game was officially announced a week or two ago. Not huge on 999 but really liked VLR

I honestly liked 999 the best. It had me reading up on things for weeks, trying to find out which theories were true and which were made up for dramatic affect. I wasn't the biggest fan of the romance with June though.
