Do you suffer from Schediaphilia...

Toonophilia, or do you identify as an Otakusexual? Do you feel that your attractions to anime/cartoon characters may prevent you from dating or forming actual relationships with people in reality? Explain and discuss. (This has came up in discussion before, cannot remember if there is a dedicated thread to it.)I find this topic kind of fascinating. Seems to have become a great issue in Japan and with the growing popularity of anime in the Western World, can see it becoming more prevalent.

I have nothing against people who are sexually attracted to cartoon people (or anything for that matter, everyone has their own preferences). I do not have schediaphilia either. I just crush on certain anime guys for a period of time, which is normal, then move on. I'd rather fall in love with a real person anyway.

I probably do and I think it's fascinating! Humans have such a strong imagination that we are able to create human-like beings that others can adore and love. They provide us with truths and examinations of what we believe to be human. And they are immortal! And super cute! I don't believe that it will stop me from forming a relationship with a flesh and blood person as I have had some already even though I am an otaku.
