Recent influx of weird people?

Normalizing? I see it as a warning. The one's who want to ignore it and pretend it doesn't exist are only perpetuating the issue. The community can't ban or see everything and most won't ever speak up. Either ignore people or learn to deal with it. Really, an ignore option would be one of the better solutions and easier ones at that.

K, goodbye. Nice of you to throw your worthless two cents into the ring. So glad to see some worthless highschooler try and act big and tough.

@dom_kun has a point. Like I said earlier, I haven't seen harassment on this site, however, excusing it because it is a dating site and it happens on every other dating site is, well, retarded. I have tried other dating sites in the past and have left because it was cram-fuck-filled with assholes who can turn rude and hateful in an instant if you say something they don't like, and yes even harass. One of the best things done to retaliate against this kind of behavior on dating websites is Nice Guys of Okcupid. I think it should be more inclusive and expose people for who they really are across ALL dating websites.

Nobody is excusing it, who is saying that? Try reading. It says people need to speak up when it happened to them so something can be done. It happens, it's not right, but unless an administrator knows about, with some sort of proof (which should be easily obtainable on the person's end), nothing can be done. Start using your brains, people. Stop living in fantasy fucking land.

Does this place even have admins or moderators? I know of Sephiroth but are there any underlings that manage things when he isn't around? That could be a reason why some people have left. Maybe they were being harassed but didn't know who to go to. Maybe they tried and gave up? Ultimately it's not something I would want floating around out there in the forums, but who could you trust to tell? And nice reply by the way. Love the hostility there. I thought you were a bronie... since when are bronies jerks?

I'm just grateful you weren't part of the welcome wagon. I can't see how that would encourage people to stick around. "Welcome to MO. I was here first. Fuck off." LOL

you think for a 30 year old man he would've learned some sort of respect along the years

...I understand his frustration even if it was brought out in a brash way. The struggle is real, bruh. Just be cautious, people. This is why I'll reiterate, there really should at the very least be an ignore button. You can't stop every ass hole, but you can prevent most.

I don't expect respect from strangers on the internet. Maybe a bit with strangers who have things in common with me, but that's neither here nor there. What I do expect is a little less hostility. That's the only thing I can call it? Shit, I didn't know my opinion on dating sites could offend so easily. Ultimately, I'm looking at the bigger picture. The problem isn't the lack of response to harassment, but rather the behavior. People will only continue to do it if it is allowed by everyone else. To reiterate, not specifically just here, but everywhere. I understood what you were staying.

idk I imagine respect and refraining from hostility to be almost synonymous but if you think otherwise that's fine!!
