Cosplayers Arrested for Carrying Toy Guns at Animonvention - Haruhichane C

The police aren't your friend for numerous reasons we could list all day. It's a job like any other that people abuse.

Nobody loves a police officer until they need one, right? I've done some training with police, and I blame their corruption on inadequate training. I've seen it myself through ride-alongs. The media also fabricates some stories. In my situation I did have the orange tips, but the sergeant told me to only display the guns inside the convention center and not outside in public. Which is understandable with today's terrorists threats. I think it all depends on the city and what the officers were briefed.

All ya'll haters, I just wonder who you'll call in an emergency? I Know there's corruption, but not all cops are corrupt.

There are all different ones. Some are cool, yet some are just frkn messed up with bad attitude. I meet two cops, when doing a High School ride a long, they were laid back and cool. Yet, there was one that had quiet attitude. Those can be the worse one. Yet, this arrest was so damn stupid. They were cosplaying. Cops don't know that, especially at the event. Maybe they were messed up ones.

There was a time when there weren't cops. And now we have them. There is a reason for that. Sure there things that need fixing or tweaking, but most are decent people. But good cops are like car accidents that didn't happen, no one seems to care that it happens millions of times everyday. Now this is the issue of common sense as well, if there's a convention and the weapons are clearly too fantastic to be real, then it should be obvious to anyone with an average IQ that the weapons are fake. On the other hand, just recently people were murdered by armed militants in Canada. And a soldier was run over. The days of being complacent are gone and everyone's on edge. I think all parties involved just need to share a few bottles of Choya Umeshu.

Friend of mine did some cosplay with a sword prop or something and a cop pulled a gun on him while he was detained. Nearly shot him and went to therapy for a while after it because of it.

I guess if that situation happened in my country, cops would have ignored them since they are not interested in it, unless the cosplayers were actually handing some real weapons so the military forces would probably steal them for themselves. Of course the whole process disguised as if it was something righteous. However since is such a dangerous country and people are more afraid of delinquents than cops I'd said that handing a weapon whether is fake or not and showing it off in public places would be turning yourself into a target. So I'm not sure but in both cases is just a foolish action. Now, If I was in a first world country I guess they would have no reason to get you arrested if one hands those weapons inside of a private place. I guess.

Here's a test, pull out a toy gun in front of a cop and see what happens. Others didn't know they were fake and we're just loking out for public safety. Can I blame them for being overly cautious? He'll no, there's to many crazy individuals to take a chance. My only question is why the fine? They weren't charged with anything, which suggests they were not doing anything wrong persay, but they were fined for doing something in a manner that was seen as illegal. People are making this into a police corruption thing without putting the people who were fined into question. It doesn't matter that there was a convention, in many places you can't just pull out even a fake weapon. It obviously looked real enough to arouse suspicion. Hell, on hollow ween you still can't go into a place of business with a mask on. Just because an event is going on doesn't mean the whole community is participating or knows what's going on.
