Was Hitler really such a bad guy?

And our next topic: Was Christopher Columbus really such a bad guy? Y'know since he brought all those native American killing white-ies to the continent?

The answer to that question is yes. He was a bad guy. So was Columbus. So was Stalin. So was Ghengis Khan. Were their hearts in the right place to help their people? No, I don't think so. Most were self serving just to preserve their own power. Sometimes that helped some of their citizens, but most often they only cared about keeping power.

It's a good reason to be just a little less of an ass to people at times. Sure you may be having a rough day, but shout at the wrong guy, be a jerk and cut in line or give your opinion when you should hold your tongue and TA-DA you've just set off the next psycho. If you're really unlucky he may have the charisma and fortune to gain enough power to really cause trouble. No one knows what it's like...

I find it kind of odd that Hitler is considered by some to be the biggest monster humanity has ever known and all that, but meanwhile we seem to be forgetting what everyone has done too. Like who cares if people were uber racist in the 50s? Hitler killed jews! It's just weird.

^ I agree, people seem to forget that part. & Rinar, yes, I guess it may be because it's an event of recent memory (relatively) but then again so is slavery.. idk.. just a little annoying when people act doggedly and uniformly stick to one viewpoint.
