Was Hitler really such a bad guy?

You might want to watch the movie called Der Untergang. (Downfall) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9ic_oacCvo

The thing is that people don't realize is that there was racial genocide being done in world war 1 in a country known as Yugoslavia, and do we demonize whatever leader was behind that as much as Hitler? *shrugs shoulders* But American history doesn't really focus on that now...as it would under play the genocide done by Hitler? I mean racial genocide was hardly new...it just wasn't done that same scale before...but if someone can correct me on the scales of genocides throughout history feel perfectly free to correct me on this. If you want to keep in the same era you don't even have to bring up Columbus to show the evil of America in World War 2..the Japanese Internment Camps, sure they weren't exactly like the holocausts in that they didn't kill their prisoners. Or how they wanted to round up all the Germans but that was too difficult so in the end it was only the Japanese that got put into them. The problem with asking if is Hitler evil or not goes to the core of what a culture or society deems evil or good. The terms are subjective. After all there are some people that feel modern music is work of the devil. Or that if you play Role playing Games you are some kind of satanist. Does that make you evil in your opinion just because you like to boot up the old console or pc and play a video game with dragons and monsters in it? Or any kind of game with imagined violence. But you get my point. (Post Script: If you want a good example of the era for how the Japanese were treated during WW2 watch the movie Come See Paradise. And be sure to check out the special featurettes on the dvd.)

Forget Hitler, let's talk about my favorite subject, slavery! Whipping slaves and selling cotton, and waiting for the return of Robert E. Lee! An open letter to Robert E. Lee- why did you defend slavery if you thought it was morally wrong? Hope you are having a good time being on the wrong side of history, sincerely, Darkhorse

You do realize that Lincoln wasn't so great either...when he first set the slaves free it was those not in places like Maryland where his wife still had slaves? He's not exactly the saint portrayed as? He was another control freak similar to Hitler. He actually broke the constitution for his own benefits, declared a state of martial law, and the only reason he fought the civil war the bloodiest war in American history is because he didn't want to be known as the President that lost the Union and if you think the civil war was simply matter of pro slavery or against slavery then you need to do more reading on your history..

There's a reason why you are looking at James K. Polk and not Lincoln right now. I'm not a fan of his. My favorite presidents are in this order- James Knox Polk (did everything he promised), John Adams (genius), John Quincy Adams (full of self-loathing even though he's smart, like me!), Chester A. Arthur (cause he was fat and sharply dressed, like me!) and William Henry Harrison, because I like my president to be weak and useless. Libertarianism for the win!

My favorite president would have to be Garfield. He wasn't in office long enough to screw anything up :P (joking)

^ Was that the one shot in the white house directory lmao? & John Adams is my favorite aside from Lincoln. Lincoln did what he had to in order to keep the States together.. I'd say it's acceptable to declare martial law during a Civil War; he did set precedent for the Japanese interment camps though. & I like Robert E. Lee myself. After the war concluded, a band of confederates migrated to areas of Brasil, there's this place in the south "Americana," a town made up of confederate descedents. It's nice if you like that kind of thing. & Lastly, I think it's ironic how we gave ayslum to certain german scientists afterwards just to outwit Russia in the Space Race.. very conveniently forgotten >.<

William Henry Harrison was a great man. He went out like a boss :3 Oh you mean Werhner Von Brauhn. He basically created NASA. Sure he was a Nazi, but we had to beat the Russians lol So, 30 percent of Americans do not associate (outside of school or work) with people outside of their ethnicity. So that means that integration has failed. In school, both public and college, I see it all the time: blacks sit together, and the Asians sit together. The government can't make people like each other. The laws can only protect them. And after desegregation, drugs and weapons entered school. And then God was taken out of schools. I called it then, and I'll say it now. There's a reason why I threw bricks at Martin Luther King Jr (but I always missed). The white man smells like lemon juice and Pledge Cleaner lol Okay, the last paragraph is from the Boondocks. I don't really hate Black people. I just find them hilarious, with their afros, and their dreadlocks, and their prison style of wearing pants, their lack of deodorant, and their silly names and fits of hysteria lol

^ Integration has not failed completely. If has failed to some extent, but, in comparison, I'd say it was pretty successful (albeit after a bunch of race riots, lynchings, arson, etc..) I guess the price was paid in blood even after the war ended (though, that was not really the reason for the War, in my opinion.) & Blacks mingle with whites all the time. From my experiences, I have not seen it so much, maybe because my town is predominately white (a few brown families like mine in there sticking it to der Mann.) & You're implying whites aren't mischievous either, which is ridiculous. + Lastly, cool your jets, man. C'mon, man, relax, man. That's not righteous. xD No, but, seriously, you stereotype them all wrong.. It's not like black people are the only ones to ever wear the afro.. 70's??!
