I go to Planet Fitness. If you make fun of someone, you get your ass thrown out. I wouldn't have exactly harmed him, but I would have stood up to them.

Okay, I don't know if this maybe is because I grew up in a country where morals and rights are violated everyday but I'm still going to give my opinion about this.
If I was in that situation I would probably do what others on this thread have been saying, just call them out (maybe verbally abuse them too I know is not right but I just sometimes get carried out like that when I'm talking to idiots).
I agree that you did the wrong thing throwing that weight on his foot but then again the human brain is just an impresive organ that seems to not work when one needs it.
I have to disagree in the whole "you could have been charged, that was awfully wrong" and all that irrelevant stuff, let me tell you that you are way right in how to deal with bullying, wasn't the situation to do violence but still if you don't act it is not going to stop. He deserved it, sometimes people put too much difference in verbal and physical abuse but to me those things are the same. I see no difference, one starts the other, there is no border in between them so I would pretty much applause you for it because in my twisted mind it is fair. What that guy felt in his foot is not even 10% of what that girl have felt in her whole life.
Still, they are right on saying that you shouldn't ever do that again.
And about the girl, she was probably offended by it because you have given us your point of view and we see her as the victim in here but in reality she may be a strong girl, she just wanted to ignore them however I wouldn't ever ignore someone saying shit about me nevertheless let anyone defend me if that was the case so she probably was a bit grateful by it. I don't think she's a bitch, she just was offended.
I repeat myself, I grew up in a very violent country, things here a lot different since most people are not afraid of laws, even cars pass red lights like its nothing. I am used to everything and nothing surprises me that's why bullying in this country never lasts more than a day so its not as strong as the bullying in other countries (because nobody give a fuck in here) I also think that anybody that starts making drama about it just didn't have it as difficult as many persons had.
That's why not everyone can understand what you passed through and the way you acted like that.
I don't blame you at all.
That's my two cents.

Sounds like a feminist. Anyway, I think what you did is wrong because that is pretty ridiculous to drop 75pounds on that man's foot xD; you could've really broke something. You should have been more brave and just approached them and give them a quick witty reproach and take it from there, I suppose.

@yaass. It's true I need no explanation and that it sounds farfetched. But a friend works the counter and was won over by the "wants to make amends" part of my story.
@crimson. Who sounds like a feminist? Me? Yeah, I am one. :P
And 75lb was the lightest pair on the racks. It wasn't a matter of bravery, I am very passive aggressive / aggressively passive. What I needed to be was more direct and in his face instead of a hit and run.

@Mariahaise. I am very sorry to hear that you live in such a place. I do hope you are safe and can get away from it all. :(
I fully agree with you.
What I did was by no means good, it's not something that should have been done and I shouldn't do it again or think its okay to do it. I am not proud of my actions, and I don't condone or support others acting in the same way.
But since it has already been done I shouldn't feel too horrible about it considering what and who exactly brought about the action in the first place. People can yell at me all they want, it doesn't change anything.
At this point in time since none of the past events can be changed what's important is that I need to remember the way I feel now and everyone's reactions and opinions so it changes my future actions and prevents this from happening again.
Right?

Yeah, a more direct approach would've been worth some applause, were I in the gym :P (Me? in a gym? C'mon)
And I meant the woman seemed like a feminist; one of those raging ones that have trouble accepting compliments or help.

I don't think that's feminism. I'm a feminist and I wouldn't be that offended by such a gesture at all. So that's just her being ridiculous.
