Yay for physics! More to the point I never said that all of these pairings worked. Only that they can occur. For all the fossils and creatures we have, imagine all of the ones that never even made it into the fossil record due to genetic disease. This is also a good case illustrating the tricky nature of defining a species and taxonomy.

@Jinsei, it's true that taxonomy can get tricky. Bacteria particularly can get really annoying with applying species :/ Haha I hate physics. Chemistry and biology for the win! lol

So a Quantum physicist, Theoretical Physicist and a Chemist/Biologist walk into a forum...

The egg came first, then the chicken, then it died

@xueli It's really annoying when they change the name of something because they change classification @Jinsei This sounds like a nice place for me to hangout

Discussions with fellow scientists are among the best. Xueli-chan, is there any information regarding chicken evolution? My reply was based off of the basic principle, but evidence is always nice. Then again... hmm... something about chickens doesn't seem like it would really motivate paleontologists.

Egg came first because more than just a chicken can lay an egg

That is true... Big ass ostrich egg... heh... But the question is generally posed with the assumed understanding that the aforementioned egg is indeed one that produces moar chickenz.

Long ago, there was something that wasn't a chicken. then one day, that "not chicken" laid an egg and that egg was more of a chicken than its momma and the process repeats until it was a chicken. Dear god that explanation was terrible lol. But I stay with the egg
