Ya wanna know how to stop a troll? Don't respond or comment towards or about said troll. Moving on... I haven't put in the time to look it up, but is lolita strictly a cutesy/child like (for lack of better words) as lolita implies (its a book) or could gothic in general fall under that category? Just wondering.

@yaasshat I believe that is correct, I think Lolita fashion is based on child-like design.
jordan_mikuza
yep it's just supposed to be a cutesy design

Yeah, pretty much like Victorian style dolls.

On a side note, has anyone read Lolita? It's a very interesting read!

I haven't read Lolita, but I read a description/summary, and I don't know if I would enjoy it. @_@

See, there's the confusion for me. Is all gothic, lolita? What makes it "cute" or not? I'm just disecting it through opinions here. I have my thoughts. To me, it's about sexualizing innocence thru gothic fashion(I know there's more tan gothic, it's just an example). Sure, it's cute, but it's meant to be "pretty" if you will. I do wonder though, does it translate to life style or just fashion?

@Kohagura - I think it's worth reading, and I also don't think it's about enjoying the book the way you would normally. As I said, it's very interesting. Well, it's my belief that Lolita is more about the girl than the boy - girls wear Lolita because they want to feel cute/innocent. It has nothing to do with picking up boys and looking sexy for them. If a boy thinks a girl looks sexy in Lolita then that's his choice. For me personally, I just adore the cute dresses, and I largely wear them at conventions and in the summer, and mine tend to be the simpler/more mature gothic/Victorian type.
