I know someone from my AP Art class when I was in high school that always complained about their artwork not looking right! X3 there's always room for improvement. And there's always gonna be someone that's better at it than you but, you can't let it discourage you. ^-^ just keep practicing.

I feel this way all the time.
It's mainly my awkward anatomy and stiff or inexpressive poses. I often draw characters as if they are to be used in visual novel cut-ins. Just standing up straight and neutral. @_@ Angles can be hard too.
It's probably due to a lack of reference model.

Ugh. Yes. All the time. On and off. There are times where I'm happy with how my work turns out-- until I see new works done by the artists I watch. That's motivation to keep drawing, though. There's always the art aspects you're good at, and those that you're not. >_<

That's true, I think. XD
Like, I am good with eyes and faces, but not so much with bodies. Then there are people who do so good with bodies but need improvement in the faces, and it's kind of neat how everyone's just different and has specialties.

@Kohagura I'd recommend Hogarth if that's the case.

It is very natural to dislike your own work. I have the same case. I do it but am ultimately dissatisfied.
Although I've heard from multiple sources that having some self-loathing for your work will actually improve you.

Yeah, you really improve when you know what it is you need to do better, or that you need to get better at all.
I've noticed that just about every time I finish a drawing, it turns out to look much better than whatever I drew before, though still not without flaws.

Yes, this kind of hobby/occupation should be a never ending road. In a way, it's almost like trying to see the entire universe. You'll never see all of it, but in the end you will realize you've seen a great deal and know that, compared to when you first started, you've come a long way.

Well you just described my entire life in a nutshell right there to do involving every subject ever :D But yes with artwork absolutely - I mean my artwork is really not the best ever, in fact I'll go as far as to say it's pretty bad at times and it doesn't help when I desperately strive for perfection in my work all the time because of I try too hard to be a perfectionist in everything and it ends up becoming this contorted, abysmal wreck that reality is unable to sustain. But I just keep at it, keep doing it and see if I can improve in my artwork because I do consider myself a creative person with an insanely huge imagination and I wish I can lay that out in a visual method such as art so that's really something that keeps me at it in all honesty. You just have to keep at it, look for critique, be self critical ALL the time and just improve from there on. Some people aren't artists, as much as they would like to be and even the most insane amounts of practice yield little results but you don't know until you try eh? Even if it's just for fun, I'll keep at it myself.

I say always keep your old art on hand. That way you can compare your new work to your old work. It helps you feel not so bad about your recently completed drawings. Sure as an artist you'll always spot the flaws. But they look just a tad smaller when compared to something you drew 3 years ago.
