Does anyone otaku think Pachinko (Japanese pinball) is fun to play?

As a kid I think they had miniature versions of these as toys that came with candy, but they were just like any pinball game... fun at first, and boring after awhile. XD I know it's popular in Japan though, because it's like their version of slot machines... I think the ones in casinos are more electronic now though. Honestly, like slot machines, I don't see the fun in something purely luck-based. I've had gambling addiction issues with gachapons before(part of why I think gacha in MMOs should be illegal), and gambling addiction at a casino would be worse since it doesn't give you anything in return unless you win which is extremely slim chance.
