personal story

I find this fascinating. So I've never really written about myself. I have this backhanded way of dodging any truly concrete exestential statements about myself. However I feel if I try my best this may become a good story. First and foremost. The bullshit that's easy to say. My name is Dalton. I am a filmmaker. What's interesting about talking about yourself is that if you tell enough, no one will ask for more. I can tell you a personal childhood story and your already amalgamated attentions would once again disperse into the guise of productivity. However I feel this does something. The question my next movie will ask will be about murder. In society we do many things. We pretend to care that my name is Dalton and I'm a filmmaker. We also pretend to not want to kill sometimes. Either that or I'm crazy, and need help. But I think its normal to have these thoughts sometimes. So I want to write a screenplay dramaticizing this, and show a dilapidated balancing act between a normal member of society, and a twisted criminal. So really 1. Is this a good idea? And 2. How original can it be? Yesyes I know this isn't a lot but think of the writing a proof of concept for how the story will feel.

So... You want to make an American Psycho about yourself, am I correct?

Not really. Though if you look at the plot nakedly there would be Similarities but nothing more. Also the film isn't about ME it'll be fictionalized but based in many ways upon my life. Such as films by Richard Ayoade. The diffences in theme would be affluent enough that comparing them would be insane. Imagine the movie as more emotional. Less detached. Where a person struggles with a feeling he thinks is wrong. The one similarity to this movie and American Psycho where Batemen is at the braile restaurant speaking of what society needs despite being violent. That would be closer to the centralized theme

I thought of a slightly similar but different concept. I also am interested in filmmaking but am short money for equipment at the moment. The idea is to follow various characters, showing them both as random and seemingly mundane members of society but then revealing their secret twisted sides behind closed doors and such. Like a seemingly normal schoolbus driver as he goes about his daily routine. But later you see the drugged up teenage girl he's raping and filming...along those lines. It would then switch to some other random person this guy encounters on his daily routine, etc.
