Anyone watched it?
I just finished it and I must say that it was quite grandiose. What, with the excellent soundtrack, superb animation, and incredibly original plot.
Something that added extra flair to it for me is that I'd played the Umineko fighting game first before watching the series. I think it's incredible how well the two correlate to each other.
I'm not gonna get into details about the game itself, but they did a magnificent job at translating each characters personality, abilities and story into the game.
I already liked the game beforehand but now I feel like I can appreciate it to a whole new level.

did u also played the umineko visual novel?
I watched the umineko anime yeeears ago before even playing the vn from it, and i barely remember anything from the anime, meaning that it actually wasnt really that good. i mean, last year i then played the vn, and it was reaally daaamn awesomee, its also super long. so im also betting that the anime didnt followed the vn that much, like most anime adaptions do, higurashi anime was really awesome though.

I have yet to play the visual novel.
If it's been so long, it's not that surprising hat you can't remember.
Personally I think that regardless of the VN and how good might be, the anime itself is nothing to snot at. It's rock solid.

hm yea, well it depends though. kinda the feeling, when there is a anime adaption of something u like, u want that it follows the original source right? especially that everything is in it and no important stuff cutted out, or a different ending, thats the case with many bad anime adaptions.
u really should play the vn *__* and the bgm is soo supeer awesome. and when u play it, i recommend u to use the ps3 voices and sprites (theres a patch for it), cuz the original version from it is unvoiced and the original art is horrible, unless u dont mind that xD

Personally I don't dislike the idea of anime/movie adaptations.
When done well, there're another way of telling the same story. What's not to like?

Yes! It's so awesome to finally find people who know about this awesome anime/VN! I even cosplayed as Rudolf Ushiromiya on several occassions, and none of my otaku friends got the reference :/

Once thing I've always appreciated in anime is when then opening retail you the story without spoiling anything. This must be one of my favourite openings ever now, and that's without mentioning just how epic 'One-Winged Bird' is.
