Does anyone agree that this anime should be a contender for best anime of 2014/2015?

Hell yeah and i believe it was voted as the best anime of 2014 although is still hasn't finished

Sure, for 2014 certainly. Though I can't say anything about 2015, since we're still early on in the year. Still, this anime was a fantastic experience, with the constant character development for the protagonist, and deep themes.

Yeah its great how madhouse have made it more modern as well from its original 80s theme

I agree, it should. Im loving the anime so far. Haven't come across such an good and unique anime in quite some time. Looking foward to new episodes every week.

i concur tis an epic show just seems to have the mix of all it's elements perfect and anyone seems to be fair game to be killed off always keeps thing interesting, the only thing i could see ruining it for me now is some horrendously bad and/or rushed ending

I agree if the ending is rushed i will just read the manga which i already started buying but knowing madhouse it will probably be good unless there needs to be a second season

I don't think so. While I think the story is great, (read the whole manga), the art and animation is just not up to par for best anime of the year.
