Gunslinger Girl taught me that people's lives are nothing more than garbage.

Welcome to the NHK helped me get my ass in gear since I had no motivation or plans for the future. It helped me realize that I'm screwed, lonely, miserable, and doomed to fail in life unless I take responsibility for myself and bring change to my life with my own hands The last two episodes of Evangelion (and End of Evangelion, of course) helped me deal with my depression and paranoia because it helped me realize that I can freely change my perception of life, love myself, and that I can turn my life around with my own willpower. The reason I was so miserable was because I kept secluding myself from everyone around me. Sure, people will still torment me, but that doesn't mean that the entire world is out to get me.

Naruto for teaching how serious perseverance is. Psycho-pass for giving me books to read and understanding people psychologically. And I took multiple lessons from a bunch of different anime to show me how to be a better person period.

Rurouni Kenshin. It taught me a lot about self control and the struggle of a person who suffers from a lot of things such as PTSD and feeling left behind in an era. On top of that, it reminded me I could have a sense of humor, even when things were getting really down and dirty. As of currently, Blue Exorcist. I've really taken to it because I can directly relate to Rin Okumura. Same shit, different life.

Gurren Lagann was an adventure for me, one that made me be able to finally find some shreds of self-esteem in myself. To this day I play Libera Me From Hell before every single big test I have. I've yet to be not motivated for a test, and even when I fail I just listen to it again to never give up. But there's one other show that did more to me, and that's One Piece. The massive amount of episodes and following the story was not just another anime to add to my list, another show to say I took down, but I feel like it's an extension of my life. That it's something I can always depend upon to cheer me up, and find happiness in. Some nights I just sit at my computer alone, in silence, depressed about life. I just rewatch old one piece episodes, as well as openings, and my emotions can just flow out freely, as I turn it around to happiness. Any show that can do that to a person is truly a good show, to me.
