No one said that he didn't have a right to say it, but obviously he should've known that he'd offend someone. I personally didn't take offense to what was said since I'm not a Christian though. Anywho, I'd go back and stop my brother's from stealing from my mom. I was young and naive so I never spoke up about it and that is something that I regret.

@elder_reaper You missed a comma, it should be 'I'm not, my friend' however instead you used the possevive noun. (I only correct if I can't make sense of it first time reading it through, sorry if this may have offended you.)

Not to add to the potential flame war, but I disagree with the thought that the world would be a better place without christianity. It's perhaps a knee jerk reaction to automatically think Christianity and their actions for us in the United States since it's a more vocally christian nation and we're taught a more euro-centric viewpoint of history, but atrocities and oppression have been committed in the name of every religion and philosophy. It's a fallacy to think that christianity is the only religion that has such a history. Onto the original topic, no I wouldn't change anything. I think what we go through in life shapes the kind of person we are in the present. I mean, my knee jerk response would be that I wish I was more serious about school back then so I wouldn't have "wasted" all those years working as a sound engineer and I'd be in my 2nd year of residency already. But honestly if I hadn't spent that time working and deciding for myself that I seriously needed a change, I wouldn't have taken school seriously because at the time I didn't know what I wanted to do and now I'm mature enough to really focus on what I want.

It doesn't bother me to be corrected - I'm drunk half the time I'm on here so I'm bound to make a mistake. I don't care that I offend people - Christians offend *me* with their free unchecked professing of their faith - doesn't feel good to be offended, does it? I won't say I'm not an asshole sometimes - that would be a lie - but I know a hell of a lot more about the world works than almost anyone who replied in this thread. People will walk over you if you let them do what they want.

I think it may be intetesting to see the medical advancements made by now without the factor of religion preventing progress during the Renaissance, however I can't say it would be good for them to be completely gone, despite being preached to by some christians on a daily basis.

I know historically there were many scientists who felt that science was a way to improve the glory of god but it's hard to say because even if they were wrong, their publications still had influences on others since science is really just scientists doing their damnedest to prove theories and laws wrong. Like the one that pops into my head is father spallanzani who did work on the theory of spontaneous generation in microbiology. He contradicted a previously held result that even boiled broths produced microorganisms by both boiling the broths longer and then sealing the flasks. His results were that the broths would be sterile unless the necks cracked. This influenced Louis Pasteur's work which we all know now as pasteurizing

I agree with Kichigai. I'd rather have the opportunity the restart my life with a clean slate while retaining the experience points I've accumulated so far. But then again, by trying to fix everything I did wrong, I'd probably lose things that I have or had and I'd miss them. Ergo, maybe it's better to not go back at all.
