Just off the top of my head... Survive Style 5+, Noriko's Dinner Table (although seeing Suicide Club first helps), Strange Circus (for those who can handle some very heavy themes), Love Exposure, Departures, All About Lily Chou Chou, The Taste Of Tea, Swallowtail Butterfly, Confessions, Linda Linda Linda... just a few of my favorites.

The Rurouni Kenshin films were enjoyable for me(partly from the pretty boys and rare display of outspoken females in Samurai-themed films/drama), and I am thinking of watching the Assassination Classroom movie.

Nobody Knows is a good one. It's inspired by the Sugamo child abandonment case, but the movie definitely less grisly than that.

@xueli Ah, that is the one I saw, but had forgotten the name of it. I do like interesting movies like that, which deal with real problems for some reason. And yeah from what I heard, the real version of it was a lot worse. :(

I like The sorcerer and the white snake and sheesh what's that one where shes a frozen fox demon and she came out after a thousand years in prison to take a heart so she won't freeze or something...ehhh...?OHH!!! THE WEREWOLF BOY MADE ME CRY SO MUCH TT____TT
