I'm wondering where i can go to a convention but not have to go cross-country, any suggestions

I think there's Youmecon in Detroit. Also, the Animania club at the U of M is big. Detroit also had a Maid Cafe for a short while. I missed that before it closed down. :/

I live in michigan as well and I can never find conventions to attend..

The Animania club is pretty big. Most events are free and definitely not limited to U of M students http://maizepages.umich.edu/organization/animania/

If you don't mind crossing the lake there are a lot in Wisconsin and Illinois

Definitely try Shuto con! The people are great and they just expanded this year! Its in Lansing, and it's on march 20-22
