Youtube advice

I've decided I want to review anime on Youtube. What I'm going for is sort of something along the lines of AVGN or the Nostalgia Critic maybe even JonTron. Of course I do not have the proper equipment or capture software such as them but what I do have is creativity. Keep in mind I'm not doing this for money or popularity, I just want to entertain and I figured I'd might as well combine my two favorite hobbies. So what I'm asking is what sort of advice can you give to someone who wants to make it on the internet?

I heard: * Keep it short (especially the intro) * It's gong to take a LONG time to get any attention - especially from the ad revenue. I'd recommend a Blue Yeti Pro USB Microphone if you want to spend cash. Otherwise, start small and have fun. I'd like to add that I'm no pro. I plan on doing the YouTube thing myself. I've been procrastinating on making a patreon video and start doing it. Sort of a conundrum where I'm afriad of messing it up but can't be perfect because I don't have the experience. Avoid that mind fug :)
