So, i recently finished a drawing, but i have no idea about how to add images on thes forums, so I'm just going to link to my DA-account here instead. http://klausiboy.deviantart.com/art/OC-Valkyja-490690694 I would really love input on what i did right, and what i could have done better. Drawing is just a hobby of mine, and i don't do it very often, but i really like experimenting with styles and techniques and growing and learning, so any inputs on what i could focus on later on would be great! :D

I know this is a really late reply but I'm new and noticed nobody responded to your request. I'm an animation and design student in my 3rd year and I intern as an assistant animation lecturer. Your drawing is very good, I especially like the colour pallet, purple and yellow with accent blue works well. What I suggest is to focus on proportions and gender specific anatomy. Eg. The legs are a bit short and the arms are a bit long and a female character usually has slimmer shoulders. Attention to anatomy and proportion always make drawings better. Hope you keep it up :)

Thanks, now that you mention it, I see what you mean. It's always hard to notice the flaws of your own drawings, so I like it when people point it out to me ^^

I guess I missed this too. Since you are using paint tool Sai I would experiment with the pen and brush tools to create the strokes of hair. You're using a tablet, right? Just put tiny strokes of hair where you think the hair should go and then try to blend it. Areas where the light hits directly are going to be more solid color. At the very least it's fun to mess with.

I can't afford a tablet though ._.
