had to actually look at a gun for that, and for the creature I took inspiration from a Great Horned Owl and the rest was imagination. The Frontier is a Post Apocalyptic story.

That's very good! I can hardly draw a straight line...XD I'm not sure how it's supposed to be conveyed , but you definitely put a good sense of emotion in it. I don't see darkness , rather, curiosity and fear (fear does not have to be dark). I'd say more like trepidation from the gunner and curiosity with an unknown intent by the creature. I like the use of the great horned owels features which kind of give me the sense that the creature may be quite intelligent and it's hunched over, peering into the guys eyes which gives it even more a sense of almost superiority which seems to intimidate the gunner... Heh...I could go on until I developed a story based off of this piece alone. I just see details and read a story from that.
