should sonic games include characters from comics and cartoons?

Im a fan of sonic the hedgehog, everything from the original to adventure 2 and the gba trilogy at least. The only reason I stopped is because I simply didnt have money to buy newer consoles. Ive been keeping up with the series online and not long ago read a chunk of the comic series. Ive seen every animation from adventures to sonic x with satam being my favorite of the bunch. Which begs the question, why is sega so iffy about including characters from other canons? Its not like it would hurt them buisness wise.

from what i understand the writers of the comics and the ones to the games are jumpy so its always been difficult to have any agreement between creators mainly since both games and comic get a different either director or lead writer but they have a couple times but since they "TRY" to stick to a direct story line it also puts a game in production at a still to make sure the character(s) mixes well with the story but this is nothing more then speculation from the sega site so it could be wrong

But I get what youre saying. XD I think snively would make a good lackey for eggman/robotnik even with his other robots. Theres a fan series that uses sprites called sonic gx. It actually finds a way story wise to mix adventures, satam, the ova movie, and sonic x all in one! Like an epic crossover across time!

Personally, I don't think they should have the comic characters in the games. At least, not as important ones, background characters or little easter eggs at most, I feel that, if it were possible to happen, they should at least keep the universes sepperate, adding in little references and cameos
