who likes and or dislikes Ghost in the Shell

Like. But I have some history with it. I saw the movie several times growing up and thought it was okay, it wasn't until after I watched all of SAC that I was able to go back and enjoy the movie on another level. The Oshii movies kind of assume you know the material beforehand. So even if it comes out before SAC and they're different timelines, it was just better to me going in knowing the characters a lot more.

I like it because it's not mainstream & kids can't comprehend the complexity of the story. Much like Lain, it's a fine series.

I enjoyed the original movie and felt it was an amazing production. Lots of questions are asked and it really made you think. If one day we can interface with machines, what is to stop us from being reprogrammed? Would you even know if you had been?

Ghost in the Shell is the king of cyberpunk anime. I love the series personally but if you don't like the genre it's alright at best. It can be a bit technical at times.
