Cheating in Online games.

So I've just got back into playing Pangya (PC version is a Online Multiplayer) Fantasy Golf. It's a great (best in my book) fantasy golf game to play causally. However I'm more of a fan of the PSP version over the Wii (Super Swing Golf) and the PC version. Now, I'm no expert however I always believed I can give people a run for their money... until I noticed these ridiculous stroke leads. Now it is possible for people to be extremely good in a game, however that's usually shows up at the end of a bell curve. However I see a vast majority of players averaging -40 a course and that raises a red flag for me. So I researched and discovered people hacking/modding/cheating in the game. I had no idea people use trainers and game calculators to always get the "perfect shot". They end up getting ridiculous scores and points. Now I know this kinda thing isn't anything new but it really sucks the fun out of a game. Phuck even my father, who's a champion at chess, used to play chess on MSN's The Zone however that all stopped when people started cheating: making multiple moves in one turn, erasing his chess pieces, and making it seem like he was the one to resign. (Yeah, I witness this all first hand.) Anyone of ya experience cheating on your online gaming? What's your thoughts about it?

I've experience a lot on psp when I played Phantasy Star Portable 2. Every party I joined always had some who is level 200, rank S on all weapons, and abnormal weapon drops such as having obtaining rare items after killing weak enemies. I figured they were cheating because there were codes posted in forums of many sites I used to visit. I hate cheating because it makes it unfair and really does kill the game.

Cheating is pretty rampant in dark souls 1 PvP and i can kinda understand it if you're not very good and just want to win. Thing i don't get is how cheaters don't get bored with it after a while, it's pointless and not exciting at all to know you're going to win yet they persist day after day. Oh well at least in dark souls it's still possible to kill a hacker by knocking them off an edge. best, feeling, EVER.

Most anti Cheat systems I've seen simple don't work, if they even have one at all. I'll admit i haven't played a huge number of multiplayers games online so maybe I've just been unlucky with the games I've played.

I play ffxi with basic hacking tools, nothing that overly breaks the game. Clipper: basically run fast and through walls Windower: program that 90% of xi pc users use, outs the game in a windowed screen rather than full screen and also has some add ons that affect gameplay very little (except one ill get into, such as adding a time stamp to messages, auto sorting inventory, shows you and your parties tp, ect other simple things to make things smoother. Fillmode: part of windower, but alot of newer users to widower arnt really told about it, I guess. Fillmode is fun because it make everything go from this. .. To this... Very useful for certain events where you can't find certain areas or where a monster is located.

When left 4 dead 2 came out a few of my friends and I play the 4v4 group challenge to get the achievement. Once we were in game we found that the game had been modified so that we would only receive the starter weapons (silenced smg and pump shotguns), no health packs, bile or pipe bombs and no molotovs. We received no melee weapons and were overwhelmed with modified, overwhelming hordes and they had shortened spawn times. We also faced 2 tanks at once with 3enemy special infected, one was AI controlled. They, in turn spawned wih best weapons, multiple health packs, reduced hordes, no tanks, and we had increased spawn times. Contrary to your belief, we made it to every safe house and extraction despite the odds. The other team never made it antwhere.

Wow. It's crap like that is why I tend to stay away from online gaming. Your story reminds me of a time when I was playing Halo 2. My team kept spawning in one particular spot, always got killed with auto aim head shots, and grenades only went like 1" when we threw them. I was lucky to get my hands of a sniper rifle and snipped the modder in the back of the head which somehow resulted me in instantly dying when I pulled the trigger.
