permanant deletion of account?

i dont like the idea that if i wanted to delete my info/account it only gets "disabled" but not deleted permanently. this is really sketchy and not cool for us users.

Just remove your photos, info, and change your display name to "GONE" or something. I don't believe the accounts should be deleted, it would screw up the forums.

I personally wouldn't mind accounts that haven't logged in in over a year getting purged from the system. If someone wants to comeback, its not hard to create a new one.

yea but "removing" everything is such a hassle and how do you know that they don't record the info you first used? and accounts that aren't being used for well over a year should automatically be removed from the search engine so it would be easier to find people who are active or at least delete the account entirely.

On the positive side this site is a relatively simple site written in ruby. So it's less likely that the site has been coded to log all changes to profile info. Its simpler to just update that info.
