Admittedly I'm an over 30 year old gamer who also likes anime. (although I wouldn't go as far as saying I'm a true otaku since its just a casual like) I've been living on my own since 18 and have my own place, car, full-time job, and one semi-stupid cat. Generalizations aside as there are some people out there who meet that stereotype but it's pretty few and far between from my experience. Most otaku and gamers I run into at least have some life goals and likes beyond those things. For them, anime and/or videos games are just their main pastime.

Wow, Reika summed it up nicely o.o and here I was asking for a one or two sentence break down...now I know that was an impossible task.
